Prologue Responsive Html5 Template
It’s that time again for the Html5 website template of the week. This week’s free template is from HTML5 Up and its called Prologue. The Prologue Responsive Html5 Template is a one page website design with a left sidebar. All of the navigation is inside of that sidebar. What I like about prologue is the extra added touch of the small icons next to each link. If you choose small, minimal icons, they will look great, just as the ones in the demo. I like the simplicity of Prologue. It doesn’t have a bunch of garbage that you need to remove. It is clean and simple, so you can add to it easily. I like the fact that you can have an avatar in the sidebar. I might add a mini bio under the image, but overall, it’s a nice look.
I also like how the menu items are greyed out, and then come to life in a vibrant color when they are active. The portfolio is nice and simple, with captions. It also gives you the ability to mix and match portrait and landscape images, so you aren’t confined to a certain orientation.
I like the full width image for the About me section, but I would honestly divide the text into 2 columns. I think this stretch is too long to reach in terms of comfort for each line of text. Having 2 columns would give each one just about the right amount of text per line to make reading easy.
The contact form is light and simple. There are only three fields, but if you know a little form development and some PHP, you can add additional fields in minutes. I like the social media icons in the bottom left corner in the sidebar, but I would actually make those in bold colors to stand out. It took a while for me to notice that they are there.
