What Makes Me Sick About the Design Business
The business of graphic and web design is a difficult business to break into. Designers are no longer expected to simply be print experts, but they must also have web knowledge as well. Most designers these days are well rounded and are capable of handling both worlds. This business is an ever-changing one, but there are some major things that tick me off to no end.

How do Graphic Designers determine their Pricing?
As Creatives, Graphic Designers, Consultants, etc., one of the most daunting tasks is to figure out what we are going to charge. When starting our own business, we have to consider our own expenses, health insurance, making sure that we factor in a little extra to get us through the slow times, sometimes rent for an office, the price of a P.O. Box, travel expenses, and much more. If we are going solo as freelancers, we don’t have as many expenses to do business because many of us work from home or work on site for our clients. A List of Key Organizations for Creative Professionals
First off, this is a list of who I consider to be some of the top notch resources and sites for creative professionals. I have received no endorsements, fees, bribes, or persuasion from any outside sources. This is strictly upon my personal evaluation.
1. AIGA- This organization is a network for creative professionals with resources, jobs, and articles about many different subjects, including news. http://www.aiga.org/
2. The Graphic Artists Guild- This organization is a hub for designers to gather about issues related to graphic design. It has job posts, as well as a resource to help freelancers acquire health insurance. http://www.graphicartistsguild.org/
